Lombok, named after the Indonesian island, is a popular neighborhood among (young) locals of all nationalities. It features cosmopolitan shopping streets, an old industrial area, canals with house boats, a beautiful working windmill and a modern, very prominent mosque. On this tour we show you the full diversity of this part of the city, and explain how it has developed over the past century.
Tours through this bustling multicultural neighborhood will be held occasionally, so not on a monthly basis as before. When we organize one it will be announced on this website, and on our Facebook page. Like us to receive updates of our events!
Lombok tours start outside ‘Het Gegeven Paard’, a cafe in the northwest corner of TivoliVredenburg concert venue. This large and modern cubical building is centrally located at 5 minutes walk from Utrecht Centraal train station. The photo below shows you the meeting point at the corner. Here’s the google maps location of the meeting point.
